Oral Surgery

Back | Next | Home

When a tumor has been diagnosed by your veterinarian, oral surgery may be an option. After the tumor has been staged, a maxillectomy (removal of a portion of the upper jaw), mandibulectomy (removal of a portion of the lower jaw) or other oral surgery may be recommended. The details of the surgery, complications, and prognosis will be discussed with you in detail prior any therapy.

Cleft lip and cleft palate are congenital defects that need to be corrected if they are causing oral lesions, difficulty eating, or discomfort.

This cleft lip and palate was subsequently corrected with oral surgery.
