Delayed Emergency

Pepper has a story to tell.

In the middle of the night Pepper's mom awoke with a funny feeling. Pepper wasn't in his usual sleeping spot. Pepper's mom and dad found him in the stairway and knew they had an emergency on their hands.

Off they sped to our ER where Pepper arrived in respiratory arrest, followed within minutes by cardiac arrest. Quick action by our emergency team including an emergency tracheostomy and CPR brought Pepper back to life.

Apparently an altercation with a larger dog earlier in the evening resulted in hematomas that emerged over time so that hours later his airway became obstructed.

Pepper's condition is corrected and he is expected to live a normal life.
